Woman reflecting peacefully in natural light after finding herself and remembering who she is

What Comes After Finding Yourself?

There is an interesting moment after you begin finding yourself again.

You have released identities that no longer belong to you.

You are becoming less concerned with who you were expected to be.

You feel more grounded in yourself. More at peace with your own presence.

And then another question appears:

What am I supposed to do now?

When Freedom Feels Unfamiliar

We can become so accustomed to allowing the outside world to give us direction that even freedom can initially feel unfamiliar.

There is no longer a script telling you exactly who to become.

No role you need to perform.

No life you need to copy.

And without those instructions, you may find yourself searching for the next one.

Perhaps you begin looking for your purpose.

Your calling.

Your gift.

The career you are supposed to have.

The thing you are supposed to build.

But maybe embodiment is not about immediately finding the perfect thing to do.

Maybe it begins much more simply:

Let who you are inform what you do.

Let Who You Are Inform What You Do

Pay attention to what comes naturally to you.

Notice what you care about.

Notice what you understand deeply.

Notice what you enjoy giving.

Notice what people naturally receive from you.

Notice what you would continue doing even if no one gave you a title for it.

These things are clues—not instructions.

They reveal something about the way you naturally move through life.

And they do not necessarily have to become your career.

A gift can become a career.

It can become a book.

It can become the way you raise your children.

It can become the way you love people.

It can become something you create.

It can become the perspective you bring into a room.

It can take one form today and another ten years from now.

The expression is allowed to change because you are the source of it.

You Don’t Need Another Identity

After releasing old identities, we can immediately try to replace them with another one.

Now I need to figure out whether I am a writer, teacher, entrepreneur, artist, healer, or leader.

But what if you did not rush to put yourself back into a box?

You can know who you are without knowing every form your life will take.

You can follow what feels natural.

You can create what you feel moved to create.

You can allow your interests to evolve.

You can let your abilities express themselves wherever you happen to be.

You do not have to turn yourself into something.

You get to live as yourself.

What Comes After Remembering?

Perhaps that is what comes after remembering who you are.

Not another search.

Not another identity to perform.

Not another perfectly mapped-out purpose.

Expression.

Let the woman you have become live.

Let her choose.

Let her create.

Let her interests lead somewhere.

Let her gifts find their own forms.

You do not have to know exactly what your life is supposed to look like before you begin living as yourself.

Know who you are.

Then give yourself the freedom to see what she does.
